Organization of a healthcare system must provide a 24hours health quality services for the people. Mostly this type of organization has the vertical form of structure and each management system has specific roles. The form of system is designed in a way so that each member is responsible for the organizational goals and achievements.

Nurses are the primary care providers who overlook the patient safety and well-being. They work around the clock in caring for the patient through routine shifts.
Chief Nursing EXecutive:
She is in the top of the Nursing management structure. She is directly involved with the hospital board of directors in making the decision of hospital operations. She will represent the nursing team and departments. She is responsible for nursing budgets, staff allocation, training program, State regulatory compliance, JCIA accreditation of organizations. Under her the Departmental managers who look after the day -day services.
Departmental Managers:
Each department within the hospital such as cardiology, orthopedics, pediatrics, emergency, critical care, infection control, obstetrics, has its own managers who look after the operation of the particular the department. The manager is responsible for the budget of their department, staff requirement, allocation, clinical outcomes and to rectify of departmental issues.
Nurse Managers:
Nurse managers are under departmental heads who look after the floor nurses and report to the department managers. She is a liaison between the physicians and surgeons in their department. the nursing personnel issues, availability of adequate staff, training of staff, are the tasks of nurse managers.
Charge Nurses:
Charge nurse looks after the department on each shift. She is responsible for the clinical care team and also any issues with the Organizational policy and directions. She will arrange the team meeting every week to rectify the issues on the specific shifts. She will attend the emergency patient execution care and personnel issues.
Floor Nurses:
Floor nurses are responsible for assigning of nursing staff in delivering of the patient care. Based on the unit, for ex: in critical care, one staff is assigned to one patient, whether in medical-surgical ward one staff is assigned to four or five patient so that delivering of care and well-being of the patient is obtained. she will look after the plan of care, physician order, discharging of the patient and educating the patient etc.
Fo changes to be made each has to approach her higher authority of whom she is under by the way the issue has taken to the higher authority and necessary changes will be made after the discussion with all the important personnel. Thus the organization has a vertical form of structure so the changes are made through from one authority to another.
