What is an anticodon, where does it fit into the Central Dogma, and how does it play a role in protein synthesis?
Anticodon has a three nucleotides present in the tRNA molecule and makes a complementary to mRNA codons. Codons runs in a 5' to 3' but Anticodon runs from 3' to 5'.
Example Codon 5' AUG 3'
Anticodon 3' UAC 5'
Central Dogma is nothing but the transcription and translation.
DNA ----(Transcription)-------- mRNA ------(Translation)---------------Protein
Anicodon plays in mRNA ------(Translation)---------------Protein
Anticodon in the tRNA is responsible to binds to different codon present in the mRNA. Totally 64 codon are there in that 61 codes for 20 amnio acids and 3 for stop codon. Totally 32 tRNA are resonsible to bring this Amino acids so the anticodon plays a major role with binds to mRNA and makes the translation process with no error.
