Hydrophobic effect: In simple words ,it is exclusion of non polar substances from an aqueous solution .
Micellar catalysis: When amphophilic are distributed in water , their hydrophobic part keep away from
water and forms aggregation of molecules , that is called micelle.
Amphophilic*= a compound consisting of molecules having a polar water soluble group in water and
insoluble hydrocardhychain also.
Hydrophobic effect with Micellar catalysis:
Hydrophobic effect leads to Micelle formation .
The tendency of amphophilic compounds to form micelle is a result of hydrophobic effect . The micelle catalysis
is due to the driving hydrophobic forces which further depends upon the length scale of dependence of aqueous
solvation .
Thus miceller catalysis happens because of hydrophobic effect as it that part of compound that is not soluble in
aqueous solution and that results in a miccele formation.Examples are like the miceller catalysis in organic solvents
like oil and fatty acids .
