Bullying has become increasingly problematic for school aged children. Describe the different types of bullying as well as the characteristics of a bully. What are the consequences for the victim of bullying? How will this affect their social development? Bullying: It is a behavior where the individual try to dominate the other individual harassing or abusing them to show others that they are superior to all.

Research says that bullying not only occurs in educational settings like school, college rather they even can occur at office atmosphere, home, streets, sports, prison etc., Now a days school children are becoming both the bully and a victim for bullying.

CHARACTERISTICS OF BULLIES:

  1. Being envious about other
  2. Having a Resentment towards something
  3. Low self esteem
  4. Possessing narcissistic personality
  5. Quick temper
  6. Aggressive behavior
  7. Concerned about their reputation

TYPES OF BULLYING:

CONSEQUENCES FACED BY VICTIM:

  1. excessive stress

  3. inability to mingle with othrs

  8. packed up negative emotions
  9. change in routine behavior

Social development is highly affected for both the bullies and the victims because both of them have the difficulty to manage their emotion and regulate them. So this make them to have sifficult time to get along with the society where they need to adjust them accordingly. Once they come out of their power like moving to other school or going to college for higher studies they struggle to place themselves into the group. There is a possibility that bullies can also engage in anti social activities

IDEAS FOR REDUCING BULLYING:

  1. regular inspection in school regarding bullying should be done
  2. rules should have a strict punshiment for bullies
  3. placing a complaint box
  4. educating children regarding consequences of bullying through legal peoples
  5. educating the individuals to speak up for themselves
  6. giving assertiveness training
