As my origin in from India, there was a time when I was in School in California, America when there was my English teacher who was from London, UK. She was very strict and rude to many students as far as I remembered. There was a time when I used to get treated differently as compared to other students because of the background and the culture I belonged to. I have a different while I used to talk and people used to make fun of me and teachers supported them as well and nobody thought it was an unethical practice to treat someone different because of their nationality, religion, caste or whatever it is. I was too shy to confront this to my parents. Although one day, they got to know this kind of behaviour by themselves as they came along with me at the Parent Teacher Meeting and saw students making fun of me. My mother immediately reported this situation to the Administrator of the School, the Head of Primary Wing about the kind of behaviour being practiced and the ignorance of teachers over it. The supervisor was a nice lady and understood our problem. She immediately called the English teacher and fired her because of her unethical behaviour and many other complaints apart from mine. A new rule of non discrimination was made and communicated in the school where teachers used to teach students about the importance of moral values and Equality. Thus, this experience of mine helped me grow through and become a better individual in life.
