The storming stage of a group can be a difficult time for a group leader. After reading about storming in chapter 5, are you worried about any of the indicators of this stage (monopolizing, questioning, etc...)? How do you see yourself dealing with it?
The second stage in the group formation is storming in which group members would have too many questions and doubts about the members, functions and purpose of the group. This would mean that it’s the most difficult part in the forming of a group. If these questions and doubts are not clarified well, people would lose trust, interest and wouldn’t contribute or continue to the next stages of norming and performing. Thus, it requires more patience and handy information in order to clarify the doubts and answer the questions. Besides, the knowledge and patience, one may also need the much needed leadership quality of treating everyone equally because when people feel that they are not given their due respect and place in the team, they might just move out because they wouldn’t find any purpose or benefit of being in the group. So, handling the team members effectively during the second stage of storming is really important.
