Factors I would consider while determining what leadership style to adopt and why:

1. Level of Intelligence of the group members: In order to determine the perfect leadership style for any group, firstly, we would assess the information regarding the skills and intelligence of the group members to know whether they can work on their own or need constant supervision to work under.

2. Type of work: It is significant to know about the type of work the group would be doing in order to determine the perfect leadership style, as if the work is technical or required specialized skills, then there would be a need for constant supervision.

3. Employees relation with each other and with leader: If the employees are having good relations with each other and with the leader also, the leader can look forward to giving them some autonomy to take part in the decision-making process, etc. But, if employees relation with their colleagues or leader himself and not good, or leader does not trust the competency of the employees, then the leader should not or would not give authority to the group members.

Leadership style I would use in this situation and why:

I would recommend using the democratic style of leadership in this situation since it can be clearly seen from the case study that group members are not satisfied and have no interest in doing the tasks are assigned to, it can be because they were not involved in deciding amounted tasks and responsibilities. They have imposed tasks they are unwilling to do, and thus, it would be difficult to get the tasks finished by all the group members.

The whole problem can be solved by involving the group members in the decision making process and involving them in deciding their own tasks, so that they willingly work to get the task finished, as they chose their work on their own and thus, they must be having an interest in the tasks they have chosen for themselves.

A Thumbs Up! Would be really helpful for me. If you have any questions, please leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
