describe a scenario in your personal or professional life in which you have applied continuous improvement principles. What were the inputs and outputs? Was the continuous improvement successful
In my professional life I have applied some of the continuous improvement principles.
a) I have made small changes in my skills to bring improvements in
my job performance. I know that a small change in today's
performance will matters a lot for my future performance. For this
I don't need any long-term professional course, only a small change
in handling tasks, a thorough knowledge about the product/service
and guidelines of my company and knowledge about the customers is
sufficient to start and bring minor to major improvements in my job
role.
b) I give importance to small changes that can be accomplished with
a small or no investment. So I think over the small ideas that can
be implemented to bring improvements in the processes of my
organization. Also think over some ideas to improve my work.
c) When my employer gives me permission to think like a owner of
the organization at that time I feel energetic and excited, started
to plan how to improve my job performance, also take small steps to
bring improvements in the process of the organization. When
employer inspires us to involve in the improvement process, it
spikes our energy and thinking power and we are able to achieve our
goals.
Here the inputs are improvements in personal skill sets, knowledge
and ideas, also interest and initiatives and outputs are
improvements in the organizational processes, improvement in the
individual employee performance and achievement of company's
goal.
Yes, continuous improvement was successful, as a small drop of
water in the ocean counts, a small change in the individual
performance matters a lot for achieving company's target.
Similarly, any creative idea related to company's products/services
or processes bring a lot of changes in the business process. So a
small change is essential to bring improvements in various
sectors.
