Physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of students
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of students and how these may affect learning
1.PHYSICAL,SOCIAL AND INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT:
PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT:
All body parts in a person are comes under his/her physich. These body parts are created when child is in mother's womb. After birth they will grow rapidly till child comes to 7 years. After that slowly they will grow till adulthood.
From birth to 2 years:
In early days upper part of the body will grow more than lower part of the body. Head occupies 1/4 th part in whole child's body. After that lower part of the body will develop rapidly. Then head occupies only 1/8th part of the body.
From 2 to 7 years:
In these days children body parts will develop rapidly and children uses their body parts effectively in all their needs
From 7 to 18:
During this stage children body parts will develop interms of width and length. Growth of physical development in terms of length will stop at the age of 18 and develops slowly interms of weight upto 30 years roughly
SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT:
If we refer Erik Erikson's psychosocial theory we will find that our behaviour and psych development is mainy depend on our social environment, our social experiences and problems we faced in society. In large range society influencing peson's development::
INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT:
Accoding to Alburt badura's social learning theory person's development involves in his personal observation and his logical thinking more than social experiences. So person's personal observation will takes lead role in intellectual development. Murray explained that persons intellectual devepment is mainly depend on his brain's structure. He explained this intellectual development in biological manner.
2.CHARACTERISTICS OF PHYSICAL, SOCIAL AND INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT:
PHYSICAL:
1.Child will grow in biolgical manner.
2.In early days upper part of the body will grow
3.Later lower part of the body will grow
4. At the age of 14 sexual parts will grow up
5.After 18 physical development becames absolutely slow.
SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT:
1.Child will learn learn from surroundings
2.Learns through cause and effect.
3.Learns by social experiences, wounds, traumas etc
INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT:
1.Person learns through his mental abilities.
2.Person learns through his obsevation
3.Through logical, reasonal and abstract thinking.
3.EFFECTS IN LEARNING:
PHYSICAL:
If children are good at physical developement they will effectively learns anything. If they failed in physical development they can't involve in anything results they will not learn effectively and face problems in society.
2.SOCIAL :
According to Psychosocial theory and cognitive develoment theory learning mainly effected by society. If children effectively involved in social actions they will learns more otherwise they will fail in effective learning.
3.INTELLECTUAL:
According to alburt bandura learnig involves in person's personal observation . If person observed his surroundings very well he will develop intellectually otherwise he will be poor at intellectual development.
