Discuss performance management and your likes and dislikes about the system you currently work with? Do you agree or disagree that performance appraisals are important for the worker and the organization and why? What format do you believe they should take to be effective?

Answer 1.
Performance management is the process in an organisation, to ensure
that the activities which are being done in the organisation meet
the goal in a effective manner. It focuses on all the departments
employees within an organisation. Performance management has three
basic stages the first is coaching then corrective action and the
last is termination. All the performance management standard are
decided by the leadership in an organisation. The leaders within an
organisation provide the actual feedback of the performance of the
employees and the desired performance in terms of behavior is also
discuss in performance management.
That things I like about performance management in my organisation
is performance management improves the organisation performance.
Workers in my organisation are more loyal and the retention in the
company is also increased by performance management. Conflicts are
reduced and consistency and efficiency in performance is also
increased.
I dislike about performance management in my company is that many a
times the senior management have high expert expectation about the
performance by the employees. I such cases if the expected
performance is not delivered by the employees it leads to friction
between the management and the workers.

Yes I believe that performance appraisal is important in an
organisation. This is because performance appraisal allow the
organisation to give positive feedback and also identify those
areas in which the performance of the employees need to be
improved. The senior management and the employees can then create a
program which would help in improving the employee about his weak
areas under performing areas of concern. The employee also feels
motivated if he is having a good compensation system.
Performance appraisal also tells the employee about his role and
the status in the organisation. It gets to know about position of
where the employee standing in terms of performance and how can he
improve his performance. Performance appraisal is the key factor
for the self development of the employees.
Performance appraisal also provides the expectation in terms of the
future plan of the organisation. It helps both the management and
the employee to setup long and short term goals.
Performance appraisal also helps the company to identify the
promotions and rewards to be given to the Employees.
The people who under performing in the organisations also identify
the performance appraisal and necessary action to be taken against
them.

The format which I believe is most effective in performance
appraisal is the general performance appraisal. In this type of
performance appraisal both the employees and his manager are
continuously setting the goals. The ability to achieve of the goals
decides the performance of the employees. If the employee has
achieve the goals he has done justice to his job and the process is
evaluated and he will be given incentives and promotions.

Five major development in the human resource in the future are as
follows-
1. People working in different companies have to continuously
learn. With the paper change in technology across the last few
years people have becoming more than more Technology oriented. This
has made the people continuously with regard to the advancement in
this field. Learning management systems are being introduced in the
company to to enhance the learning of the people. This is mainly
done through videos, mobile contents etc
2. In the technology revolution companies are looking for
professional specialized in areas of economic activities that are
emerging at a rapid pace. To select and hire the right candidate
people are using social network Technologies. The use of platforms
especially video platforms such as hireVue and social networks such
as LinkedIn and Skype interviews increase tremendously.
3. Companies these days are finding out new appraisal methods.
Today the appraisal is no longer based on the primary method ,which
was the experience and seniority. Today company looking for the
people who can achieve targets and can achieve concrete results for
the organisation. Companies are using performance appraisal methods
based on the performance of the employees.
4. Today that company is looking towards young enthusiastic leaders
who are able to move the company in a digital way. The traditional
methods of doing business are getting outdated and companies are
looking for diversify leaders who are technological equipped.
5. Today a new term is being used in the companies it is called
"People Analytics". This approach is the comprehensive use of data
to make decisions. The decision made is related to the people at
work. It is used to increase the recruitment process the
productivity and detect the errors within the organisation by usage
of data.
