Two of the most important processes, sensation as well as perception are distinct but highly intertwined. Sensation is referred to as the input that a person might have received from the various receptors as well as perception being the process through which the brain would be selecting, interpreting and organising these different sensations.
Senses could be referred to as the physiological basis of these sensations. And of perception as well, from one person to another, same senses might lead to different perceptions, since, their brain would be interpreting this stimuli in a manner that is different from the manner in which a person would be interpreting their stimuli. This would be in the basis of the memories lesfninf, expectations as well as emotionsof a person.
The sensory receptors would be collecting information from the surroundings on a constant basis. This in turn would be affecting the manner in which the information would be organised, interpreted as well as experienced in a conscious form. In perception, there are both bottom up as well as top doing processing.
