psychoanalytic : psychoanalytic was termed by the father of Mordern psychology .
It includes 3 stages of conciousness :
ID, Ego, Super Ego
completely at the unconscious level.
Acts under the pleasure principle.
immediate gratification, not willing to compromise
Eg : Hunger, Thrist and Sexual needs
Ego-
Resides in all levels of awareness
Operates under “reality principle”
Superego
The moralist and idealistic part of the personality
Resides in preconscious
Operates on “ideal principle”
Behavioural Interpretation
Behaviour is response to external stimulus . some of the major behaviourist like John B. Watson, Ivan Pavolv and B.F Skinner have develped major thories and experiments of behaviourism .
Classical conditioning by Pavlov : Pavlov conducted an experiment on dog to study conditioning of behaviour .
Initially unconditioned stimulus is the food , and unconditioned response is salivation .
In the experiement . The dog used to salivate observing the food before he conditioned the behaviour of the dog.
Later in order to condition and study behaviour he started ringing a bell before the food was given . As soon as the bell rings , The dog was given the food . The dog was so accustomed to the behaviour that as the as the bell rings the dog started salivating because the dog would know he would get food . So with this experiemnt pavlov proves to have conditioned a behaviour .
Selective Attention : is a process of concentration only on a particular things and ignoring the rest is known as selective attention.
