1. Independent Intervention: Independent intervention are those intervention those are sanctioned by professional nursing practice act. They do not require order or direction from other healthcare professional. As example the diagnostic intervention like monitoring blood pressure of the patient. 2. The dependent intervention: The dependent nursing interventions are those that require an order of direction from other healthcare professional. As example administering anti-pyretic medication as ordered by physician or administering 4 litre of oxgen as ordered.

3. Interdependent intervention: Interdependent interventions are the interventions are that can be carried out in collaboration with other healthcare professional. The orders that is given by physician and need to be carried out in collaboration with health care professional. As example Administering total parenteral nutrition.
