1. Locate three mission statements in the criminal justice system and describe how it fit into the organizational structure. Which one do you prefer? Why? How are the three different?
2. Find a mission statement from another organization (not criminal justice or military). How are they alike and different from the law enforcement mission statements? For your personal comments and thoughts do you remember mission statement or those vows, motto and pledges you took during your life?
1. A mission statement basically is useful technique or tool for well run organization. A mission strategy include three important ways. First, the mission statemnet states what the organization does for its customer, second, the mission statement defines what the organization does for its employees and the third the mission statement states what the organizational does for its owners. A mission statement is a statement for organization. This statement may be temporary to set a strategic goals or permament to long term statement. Each statemnet of mission statement should be powerful or clear, and this is enough to guide decision making and provide help to an organization's efforts.
2. Criminal justice system are designed to prevent the peace. Each and every system describe set of goals. These goals are both formal and informal. The mission statement provides direction in formulating goals. In other words the mission statement is a statement of purpose that distinguish a system from other similar system. The mission statement includes the organizational philosophy, its vision and goals. The mission statement states the future of the organization and therefore should be focus and positive on what can not be done and should be done. The mission statement should define the future of organization and not its past.
