Identify and describe at least three ways the criminal justice system operates which allows for overrepresentation of African Americans and Latinos in the prisons
Overrepresentation in Criminal Justice Systems:-
Criminal Statistics usually classify social groups according to relision , race, gender and class. Overrepresentation also suggests two types of problems,
a) Groups more likely to commit crime.
b) Those more possible to be arrested.
African Americans are incarcerated in state prisons across the country at more than five times the rate of whites and at least ten times the rate in five states.
The nation's criminal justic system is shattered. People of color, particularly, African Americans and Latinos are unjustly targeted by the police and fax harder prison sentences than their white counterparts.
1. People of color are notably overrepresented in the US prison population, more than 60% of the people behind Jails.
2. People of color are possibly to become implicated in the criminal Justic System.
3. People of color, particularly, black males, face longer sentences than their white for same crimes.
