Give two examples of classical conditioning you have witnessed. Identify the neutral stimulus, the unconditioned stimulus, the unconditioned response, the conditioned stimulus, and the conditioned response. Develop a plan on how you can classically condition a specific behavior.

Can you think of anything you do that is not motivated by either the hope of reinforcement or the avoidance of punishment?

EXAMPLE OF CLASSICAL CONDITIONING

The classical conditioning was conducted on a pair of canaries and a cat and the response was thus taken.

EXAMPLE 1

Before conditioning-

The unconditioned stimulus (food) was presented which result in an unconditioned response from the cat.

Neutral stimulus (woollen ball) was thrown which result in playing.

During conditioning-

The food was presented with the woollen ball which results in unconditioned response.

After conditioning-

Whenever the woollen ball (conditioned stimulus) was thrown to her it provokes a conditioned response.

EXAMPLE 2

Before conditioning-

The unconditioned stimulus (food) was presented which result in an unconditioned response from the bird.

Neutral stimulus (a melodious song) was played which result in no response.

During conditioning-

The song was played with food which results in unconditioned response.

After conditioning-

Whenever the song (conditioned stimulus) was played it provoke a conditioned response.

Reinforcement and punishment are included in operant conditioning.

Answer the bottom in 1-2 paragraphs Classical conditioning is a learned behavior where previously neutral response elicits an unconditioned response and become a conditioned stimulus. For example, food is a biological unconditional stimuli which produces unconditional response i.e Salivation. When food is paired with a whistle, it elicits salivation. When whistle is shown alone, it induces salivation. At this point the neutral stimulus has become conditioned stimulus and is producing unconditioned response. In higher order conditioning, a previously neutral stimulus...
