Learning can be referred to as the process by which an individual is able to acquire knowledge and understand their surroundings, skills, values, behaviors and patterns. The differential and key factors of these major learning theories are as follows-
Watson’s Classical Conditioning- Watson's classical conditioning explores the idea of learning through association. This means that learning takes place when a variable in the environment is associated with another variable in the environment.
Skinner’s Operant Conditioning- Operant conditioning explores the idea of learning through consequences. This means that for learning to occur actions need to be associated with consequences which will result in repetitive behaviour.
Bandura's observational learning- Observational learning explores the idea of learning through observation. This means that learning takes place while an observer is observing things through modeling of his mental process.
