Retail Co has a unique set of HR practices. Describe and evaluate how you think the HR practices before the takeover have been influenced by:-
1 national culture organizational culture
2 other organizational
HR practices that I believe would have been before the takeover would be influenced by both the national culture and the company's own culture. It also was influenced by what other organisations are doing around in the industry.
1. As we know maintaining a organisational culture is a very hard job because of the different elements and behaviour shown by the employees all together. Different employees have different skillset and values and thus making a culture where everybody could work together and feel that no discrimination is being provided to them in accordance with any diversity is to be assured. Before the takeover I believe that many companies would have had this organisational culture implemented but not at the level we are expecting them to. The level of diversity and inclusion has been increased recently which gives the emphasis of promoting more equal opportunities in the company's culture regardless of the fact national's culture. All the people and thier differences are to be respect and kept in mind before making decisions.
2. Maintaining a culture also gives the company a strategic edge in the environment to survive. For example promoting and building an organisational culture which follows the above mentioned factors would lead to make your company look greater in contrast to other organisations. Thus, you would be able to attract more employees to join your company and to be retained as compared to other companies because you are offering a culture healthier and better than others. Thus, makes you a market leader in the industry.
