Every school goes through a rigirous period of tests, exams, and assessment to evaluate a student's learning and education. In most schools, these assessments are done through written and oral examinations which could be formulative or cummalitive. These can occur periodically in intervals, or at random stages to make sure that the student is up to date with what is being taught. However, teachers and parents. must be wary as to how they deal with the results of the child. Learning is an ongoing process and cannot be viewed in terms of only the marks or grades achieved by the student. Many times, students go through periods of social and emotional turmoil because they haven't got good grades or are not topping the class. Getting low grades often mean that they end up with labels such as "dumb" or "stupid" among their peers. Parents and teachers also put a lot of pressure on the students which often have a more negative effect than a positive one. It is important to identify the problem areas of where the child lacks and improve those areas.
