What task tests if children understand that others have minds that are different from their own?
If children understands that others have minds that are diffrent from their own false belief task is beneficial for childrens. A false belief is related to theory of the mind which is mental state and ability to understand that others may have thoughts , beliefs feelings that are diffrent from the ones we have. The childrens around the age of four understand that their mental representations can differ from reality. Other than age, mental and cognitive factors. Such as Downs syndrome or austim can also effect false belief factors. For eg this situation is typically use'd in research in which two fictional characters will be present with the researcher and the child. For eg (two dolls) . During this kind of interaction the researcher will give the desired object to one of the fictional characters and the first character will hide to object. Then the first character will leave the room and the researcher will ask the second character to hide the desired object in the other location. During this test ( interaction ) the child and the researcher is well known with the object that where it is kept . But the first character does not . And then the researcher will ask the child to predic where the first character will look for the object. In this event the child predicts that the character will look in New location they show a false beleif as they belief the first character knows what they know and believes thier reality. After the task researcher can ask few questions to know their experiences and according to that examine the results.
