Backward children: A backward child is one who, in the middle of his school life, is unable to do class work below his age counterpart.

• Characteristics of backward children: 

       The pace of learning is slow. Experience disappointment in life. Behavioural problems are seen. They are unable to receive instruction through normal teaching methods. They are mentally unwell and unadjusted. They are also unable to work less than their age. Tendency towards anti social activities. These kids can't even do homework.

• Causes of backwardness: Abnormal physcial and somatic development, Retarded intelligence, Physical disability, Physical deformity

• Education of backward children:

   B) Education with handicrafts
