For this exercise, select two people in leadership positions to interview. They can be leaders in the formal or informal positions at work, school, or society.

Conduct a 30-minute interview with each leader – ask the leaders to describe the visions they have for their organizations. In addition, ask, “How do you articulate and implement your visions”.

Leader #1 – is the leader vision content, vision articulation, or vision implementation?

Leader #2 – is the leader vision content, vision articulation, or vision implementation?

  • What differences and similarities did you observe between the two leaders?
  • Did the leaders advocate specific values? If so, what?
  • Did the leaders use any unique symbols to promote their visions? If so, what?
  • In what ways did the leaders behaviors model their visions to others?

  • a picture:   future which is better than statusquo  long term profit of company, in which CEO provide direction to employees to achieve vision.
  • a change- change in status quo by positive outlook of leaders,
  • value- belief of action which employees found beneficial or positive to create vision should be taken in to account by considering values.

vision articulation-

  • vision should be explainable to others i.e how to communicate vision is articulation, how vision adjusted to audience, choosing right language of communicating.

vision implementation-

  • it tells the ability of leader, also require to set challenging goal by leaders.

difference -

  • leader 1 has profit-making vision related to company not its employee and leader 2 has the vision to welfare of student and value of school.

similarities-

  • NO, similarity as both have different vision.
