1. Have your thoughts on diversity changed? If so, how?
2. Discuss your perspective(s) on working and learning in an environment that includes individuals with different worldviews than your own.
1. My thoughts on diversity have changed as compared to 2-3 years earlier. Earlier I used to have a stereotypical view regarding people from other racial or national background. However, after mixing some friends from other nationality and religion I have understood that getting exposed to different cultures make me grow as a person. This breaks many metal barriers and makes us open to new ideas and possibilities. I think getting exposed to diversity as good for us as it expands our own world. I come to know about new ideas, new perspectives and the new way of doing things. I think diversity enriches the lives of all.
2. I think it is a very crucial requirement for a working or learning environment to have people from wider perspectives. When different people have different ideas, perspectives and worldviews it makes us exposed to newer ideas which help us think out of the box. It also helps us think out of the box by expanding our stereotypical and myopic vision. We learn more when our own ideas and worldviews are challenged by others. We can see the flaws in us and see the world from a wider perspective. It also helps us remove various misconceptions in our minds about others or remove the misconceptions in the minds of others regarding us. Also, when a working or learning environment has diversity, we can have multiple solutions to a problem as people can look at the problem from myriad perspectives. So, it is beneficial for all of us to have an environment that includes individuals with different worldviews
