In transactional leadership, the leader uses rewards and punishments to motivate the employees to perform better. IF an employee meets the target in the stipulated time, then he/she will be acknowledged fortheir efforts, whereas, if an employee does not meet the target then they will be penalized for it. In this leadership style, the goals and objectives are predefined. This leadership style is employed when the organizationa is lagging behind in terms of certain projects and needs to revamp the situation and to enhance productivity. The leader exhibits their authority and typically employs the formal approach. Thus this type of leadership is useful when a leader is required to correct a current situation in order to help the organization achieve their goals. this type of leadership is best suited for employees who require assistance to meet the target and for organizations who are lagging behind.

In tranformationalleadership, the leader uses his/her influencing power to motivate employees to enhance their performance in order to benefit the organization. There caan be more than one leader in a group for such kind of leadership style. the leader seeks to change the culture of the organization by creadting a vision and motivthe employees to implement the change and follow the missions of the organization. the leaderalso acta as a role model who encourages employees to enhancce performance, boost their self-confidence, and creates a culture that nurtures innovation and creativity. Thus such a leadership style is best suited when the leader is influential , has charisma and when the need for the organization is to nurture innovation and when the employees require less assistance and more motivation.

thus in my opinion, a leadership style is employed depending on the needs of the organization and the current situation. different styles are suited for different situations. forexample, in an assembly line, the leader can employ transactional leadrehsip style because its more effective in this situation. CEO's and top management exectives should employ transformational leaderhip style in order to create a vision, a mission and must motivate and encourage employees to perform better. In situations where creaticity and innovation are crucial, such as a design team or a software developing team, transformational leadership will be most effective
