prevention is better than cure,it denotes prevention is really avoiding the disease before it starts.In other words,prevention includes the plans,and measures taken to prevent the onset of the disease.
there are three levels of prevention.;

1.Primary prevention- measures to prevent the onset of illness or injury before the disease develops.
eg;immunization and regular exercises.

2.secondary prevention- those preventive measures that lead to early diagnosis and treatment for the disease.Health education programs plays important role in this level.
eg;screening for high blood pressure and breast self examination.

3.tertiary prevention-those measures aimed for rehabilitation following the significant illness.
eg;retrain,reeducate and rehabilitate people with disability,alcohol and drug rehabilitation etc.

prevention program that impact the community by avoiding risk factors in developing diseases are,
by health education on breast self examination ,which helps the women to get awareness in identifying the changes in early,prevents the breast cancer cases.
immunization prevents the development of communicable diseases .
