Personal Competitive Advantage -
Basically, the personal competitive advantage involves constant positioning about oneself in order to be against the competition. In simple words, let's say when someone chose you over other available options for a task or a position, then there must be a reason (difference) among you and your colleagues which made him/her come to a final conclusion.
For the second part of the question, Since I'm a Software Engineer, I would like to include my personal competitive advantage in form of questions which reflect my part and gave me an edge among the crowd.
How to find your Competitive Advantage -
1. Do you have a skill or combination of skills that most others don’t have?
-> Yes I do, and If not, I work hard to get the required hands-on on that particular skill.
2. Do you have relationships with people that most others don’t?
-> Yes I do have with the majority of the people as you know "Communication is the key" and it really brings an impact to your professional growth in an organization.
3. Do you have resources that most others don’t?
-> Not always, But I always look for some other alternatives as we've the access to the internet and there are thousands of alternatives to learn something for free.
4. Do you have experience and experiences that most others don’t?
-> Yes, as a Software Engineer, I do learn and implement to have hands-on experience in the technology or any skill I'm up to.
5. Do you have a specialization that most others don’t?
-> Not always on every technology, but I'm a keen listener and grasp things very fast so yeah, it can suffice to a great extent.
