Find two solutions for the following equations:
(i) 2x+3y=12
(ii) 7x+9y=63
(i) 2x+y=12
Let, x=0 in the above equation,
2(0)+3y=12
3y=12
y=12/3
y=4
So, (0,4) is a first solution.
Similarly, substitute y=0 in the equation 2x+y=12
we get,
2x+y(0)=12
2x=12
x=6
We got the second solution of the equation as (6,0).
(ii)7x+9y=63
Substitute x=0 in the equation 7x+9y=63 we get,
7(0)+9y=63
9y=63
y=63/7
y=9
First solution ; (0,9)
Similarly,
Plug y=0 in the equation 7x+9y=63, we get
7x+y(0)=63
7x=63
x=63/7
x=9
Second solution : (9,0)
Two solutions of the following equations are:
(i) 2x+3y=12 : solutions - (0,4) and (6,0)
(ii) 7x+9y=63 : solutions - (0,9) and (9,0)
