If you were to develop an e-waste plan for YOUR organization:
1. What would be its key components?
2. How would you go about promoting your plan?
3. What do you think would be the response from management and from the workforce?
1. Key components of e-waste plan for the organization are identification of sources of e-waste such as mailbox, folders, files etc. Then the sources have to be properly scanned to identify the e-waste that can be deleted in those files and folders. Next component is devising a strategy to verify the e-waste properly and gather means to destroy all the e-waste properly. At last, implementation of strategy to automatically identify the e-waste on a daily basis by setting identification parameters and keeping a track of that.
2. I would go about promoting my plan by sending mailers to all the employees and telling them about the benefits of plan. I would also explain to them about the features of the plan and why it would be helpful to them. I would also convey to them about the possible reduction in time by elimination of extra time which would also result in increasing their productivity as well.
3. The response from management and workforce would be positive and they would really appreciate the move and development of e-waste plan. This is because it would result in increase in their efficiency and decrease in time consumption as well. Also it would result in organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
