09. If you had the opportunity to interview Clark or Irene related to the case Genie(feral child):
Which of the two would you interview? Why? You can ask your interviewee only 2 questions – what would the questions be and why?
(Answer need to be in soft copy)
If I had the opportunity to interview Clark or Irene related to the case Genie (feral child), I would
interview Irene? (Mother of the so-called Genie, Susan Wiley)
Because as a mother she could have done something about the situation of her children. She
might have got or created many opportunities to save them from this pathetic history they have
written.
First question?:
According to the reports, it was said that Pearl (mother of Clark) took John with her since she
thought clark was unbalanced. You could have known well about your mother-in-law. Why did
you not sought help from her before everything could happen?
Reason for asking the question
Reports say that Irene was 20 years younger? to her husband. This might have led Clark to
dominate his woman. A wife knows well about her husband’s intention towards her and her
family’s future. She might have known her husband’s intention towards the kids and since she
couldn’t resist having children, being largely dependent on her husband, she could have made
decisions to get help from her mother-in-law. Explain her husband’s intention and found an
appropriate way to handle and nurture the kids.
Second question?:
Reports say that Susan was fed with sub-standard food throughout her childhood until the
age of 13?. Being her mother you could have found some way to nurture your baby for almost 13
years. Why you were ready to put the hat of a gud wife rather than wearing the hat of a loving
mother?
Reason for asking the question
Every girl becoming a mother has immense love for her children. She is the one who is in
contact with the child physically and mentally? since the day 1 of the confirmation of that
baby. Because of this, the bonding between a mother and her child is so much when compared
to the love of a father. She might have overcome the hurdles and convincing words of her
husband (her husband convinced her to leave Susan alone and he would let her help her child
only if she lives until 12) to help her day-by-day tortured child. John, her third son, would have
known the situation in his family. Even if he is manipulated not to interfere in the family matters
(reports say that the parents were abnormal to the children) she could have explained him of the
situation and gave him courage to help her sister (may not to bring a policeman to the home but
to bring nutritious food) to at least make her stay healthy. She herself let her own daughter
embrace the pathetic situation of what she is now.
