The special education is imparted to the children with special needs. There are various types of children with special needs like children with hearing disability, the mental retarded children, the children with blindness, children with learning disability and so on. In this field it is really a challenging to the teachers to offer effective education and the teachers have to face multipurpose training for doing so.
In the field of special education there are many categories and the training of the teacher is divided according to the need. There are teachers for the children with hearing loss and some specific methods are taken to teach the students with hearing loss. They do not have speech. They communicate with sign language. So, the teacher needs to know the sigh language as well as speech therapy. Again, the children with mentally retarded face more problems as their brain does not develop properly. They can not learn in the proper way. They are mainly taught the behavior modification. The children with blindness can hear and they may have good intelligence. To teach them the teacher needs brail words.
It also appears that for teaching the children with special needs the teachers are specially trained with standard child psychology. The children with special needs suffer from lot of psychological problems. Their socialization does not take place like normal children. There are many deficiencies. They do not get parental attachment and everywhere they are neglected. Therefore the teachers need to assess properly and the assessment is not easy.
Now, with the help of the integrated education system the children with special needs are taught with the normal children in the normal school. The purpose is to help the children to be socialized. But there they are neglected. The teachers are not properly trained and the normal students mock with them and neglect them. They feel aloof and depression. Therefore special school is more suitable for them and only special educators can teach them.
