“Redesigning your Job”

How could my job as an Office Manager be redesigned to place more emphasis on efficiency, motivation, ergonomics, or mental processing? What changes could I want, and why? (Or why do I want the job to be redesigned?)

Solutions

Expert Solution

Your job as a office manager could be redisigned as the following given pattern:

1. Your job should have the qualitative standards and approaches to be meet apart from the quantitative aspects of the organisation as you are the team leader and a manager all the core activities thus you are also responsible for achieving the qualitative aspects of the organisations like the culture, employee satisfaction and design of organisation.

2. Your own technical and managerial expertise should be regularly checked in such a manner where you yourself feel motivated to learn new ideas and aspects. Training and development programs should be designed to make you learn what new managerial techniques are used in this strategic industry.

3. At last, your job should be designed in such a manner where you able to learn not only one dimension of the project or department but all. Job rotation should be made within your reach to make you learn and seek the knowledge about how to effectively manage various dimensions like HR, Product, Sales etc to make you develop in all feilds.

You would want these changes as job redesigning is an effective way for the organisation to sustain its employees and reduce the turnover. It would make you feel satisfied as well as interested in your job and also make you learn and adapt new changes, making you feel nothing but empowered within your job.
