1. May promote excess body fat: Overeating may be especially problematic for developing excess body fat or obesity because there will be consumption of far more calories than the body's need.

2. May impair brain function: Over time, overeating may harm brain function. Chronic overeating and obesity are linked to slight cognitive decline with aging

3. May increase disease risk: Obesity, which is defined as having a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or above, is one of the main risk factors for metabolic syndrome. This cluster of conditions raises your chances of heart disease and other health problems, such as diabetes and stroke.

1. Malnutrition: Nutrient deficiencies in Calcium, Iron, zinc, Vitamin B, D and protein.

Eating less causes the body to hang onto body fat tissues, and use muscle tissues as fuel. Since muscle tissue burns calories by just being on the body, every bit of loss causes metabolism to slow down.

3. Under Active thyroid hormone: Causes hair loss, Shuts down sex hormone production, Stress hormones like Cortisol rise, which leads to leptin and insulin resistance. This can stall weight loss and cause body fat retention.

Vitamin A:

Vitamin A plays a key role in maintaining the vision. Without it, one would go blind.

Excessive intake of vitamin A leads to an adverse condition known as hypervitaminosis A. It’s rare, but may have serious health effects.

The main symptoms and consequences of toxicity include fatigue, headache, irritability, stomach pain, joint pain, lack of appetite, vomiting, blurred vision, skin problems and inflammation in the mouth and eyes.

It may also lead to liver damage, bone loss and hair loss. At extremely high doses, vitamin A can be fatal.

Vitamin D:

Nicknamed the sunshine vitamin, vitamin D is produced by your skin when it’s exposed to sunlight.

Taking high amounts of supplements may cause harm.

The main consequence of toxicity is hypercalcemia, a condition characterized by excessive amounts of calcium in the blood.

Symptoms include headache, nausea, lack of appetite, weight loss, fatigue, kidney and heart damage, high blood pressure and fetal abnormalities, to name a few.

Vitamin E:

As a powerful antioxidant, vitamin E protects your cells against premature aging and damage by free radicals.

Over intake of vitamin E may have blood-thinning effects, counteracting the effects of vitamin K and causing excessive bleeding. Thus, people who take blood-thinning medications should avoid taking large amounts of vitamin E.

Vitamin K:

Vitamin K plays a key role in blood clotting. Without it, one would run the risk of bleeding to death.

Over dose of vitamin K can cause anemia due to rupture of red blood cells, and jaundice.

In contrast to phylloquinone, menaquinone is only found in small amounts in certain high-fat, animal-sourced foods, such as egg yolks, butter and liver.

Benefits of vitamin K may include:

May decrease bone loss and reduce the risk of bone fractures.

Vitamin K helps to make various proteins that are needed for blood clotting and the building of bones. Prothrombin is a vitamin K-dependent protein directly involved with blood clotting. Osteocalcin is another protein that requires vitamin K to produce healthy bone tissue.

1. Vegans and Vegetarians:

One of the main sources of vitamin D aside from the sun is via eating animal products. But, a vegan or a vegetarian, this obviously poses a problem. Milk and yogurt are filled with vitamin D as well, but those are not options for vegans.

2. People Taking Certain Medication:

One such side effect is a decrease in the body’s ability to absorb and metabolize vitamin D.

The medications that seem to cause this vitamin deficiency the most are:

  • Drugs that lower cholesterol
  • Drugs for weight-loss
  • Corticosteroid medications

3. Suffers of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD);

Inflammatory bowel disease causes the body to struggle immensely with properly absorbing fat. And, since vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, it would make sense that if one has IBD and aren’t able to properly take in fat, then one will be deficient in this vitamin.

4. People With A BMI of 30 or More:

The higher the body mass index (BMI), the harder it is for vitamins to circulate throughout the body, vitamin D in particular.

If the person weighs in with a BMI of 30 or more, chances are good that this vitamin is struggling to properly circulate in the body.
