Orthorexia is an eating disorder that involves an unhealthy obsession with healthy eating.Orthorexia is a newly coined eating pattern which disproportionately affects Western countries.People eat such terrible foods, they have no idea of what heathy actually.
Now a days some people foccus on healthy eating can become obessive and develop into an eating desorders known as orthorexia.
The main reason of orthorexia as a growing concern in our socirty is due to,
Compulsive behaviours or mental preoccupations with dietary choices are believed to promote optimal health.
Breaking self -imposed dietary rules causes anxiety,shame, fear of disease, sense ofimpurity, or negative physical sensations.
Dietary restrictions that escalate overtime and can include the elimination of entire food groups and addtion of cleanses fasts or both.
Medical issues such as malnutrition , severe weight loss or other medical complications.
It Includes personal distress or difficult social or acadamic functioning due to belifes or behaviours related to healthy eating can cause lifestyle disruptions.
Body image,self worth, identity, or satisfaction can be excessively dependent on complying with self imposed dietry rules.
