What can HR professionals do to mitigate concerns about pregnancy discrimination in the workplace?
HR professionals can do the following things to mitigate concerns about pregnancy discrimination in the workplace are as-
1. Respond to pregnancy discrimination complaints quickly.
2. Have a employee hand in workplace to address all the acts and laws enforced by the government and company
3. Review and update policies regularly and follow them
4. Make policies related to- reasonable accommodations, paid or unpaid leaves, harassment and retaliation.
5. Give light duty to pregnant women whether she ask for it or not.
6. Create health (holistic) workplace culture
7. Set you as an example
8. Make other employees aware about pregnancy discrimination, punishment policy which company follows
9. Offer flexibility of time and work to pregnant women
10. Encourage new expectant support groups- many companies have found that these groups are valuable when it comes to supporting a working mother in their transition back from maternity leave
11. Establish a Re-Integration plan- like flexibility to work from home one day a week.
