Differentiate between focus groups and other forms of data collection, such as surveys and interviews?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Data collection can be done with the help of many methods such as focus groups, surveys, interviews, social media monitoring, etc.

Some of the differences between focus groups, surveys, and interviews -

1) A Focus group is a group of people who are assembled together to give an opinion and feedback on some products or services. Surveys, on the other, is a questioning form of data collection method from which information can be collected from people's opinions, knowledge, or behavior. But in the case of interviews, researchers interact with individual people, that means one respondent at a time.

2) Surveys can be able to get more information than focus groups while doing research as focus groups are smaller in size whereas surveys are done with larger populations. The interview method is done on an individual basis.

Hope this helps :)
