1. Which of the four "I"s (four factors) of transformational leadership (according to Bass and Avolio from the LTP chapater) is most important in the transformational leadership process and why?
2. What are the four components of authentic leadership and which do you think is most important and why?
The four main elements of transformational theory are inspirational motivation which talks about using the best methods and techniques to motivate the people to make them perform the task, idealised influence which means how effectively you show yourself in front of your juniors as an example and a role model, individual consideration where you efficiently consider everyone in your group, and make everyone feel included and important for the organisation and at last intellectual stimulation of how you present yourself bearing and taking risks ans challeneges to make people adapt themselves and learn to work with new ideas in life.
Where I believe that all of the elemented mentioned above are important, the most important element for transformational leadership could be both Influence and Consideration. Influence includes both Motivation and Stimulation in it where one person show themselves as an example in front of people, in ideal, a role model or anyone that person see and idealised and use his inspiration to make the work better. Apart from influencing people, consideration makes the people included, satisfied and appreciated which provides them job satisfaction at large.
The main factors contributing for the authentic leadeship are
self awareness, balanced processing internalized moral perspective
and relational transparency. Where self awareness talks about
knowing yourself, be truthful to yourself at large, balanced
processing works on telling that every maanger or leader shouldn't
only rely on what is moral or what is not. A correct balance is to
be maintained between people, resources and organisation to
maintain harmony. Moral perspective means to seek the morality
within oneself and others and on the other hand, relational
transparency talks about not being opaque or hide anything in the
organisation. The work, culture and the decisions should be
transparent for the benefits of the people.
I believe that all the elements for achieving the authentic
leadership are true but most important for me are Self Awareness
and Transparency. A person being self aware about his thought,
mind, surroundings etc would effectively and efficiently make the
best decision despite any situation. He would value his decisions
and seek morality within onself. On the other hand, Transparenct
would help other people benefit too in the organisation. By seeking
out the ways and finding the right ideas and decisions, no
hinderance could be feel while doing the communication.
