  • The Demographic factor: The disability cost will depend upon the age group and the various demographic characteristics. It will increase with the increase in the aged population.
  • Psychological Wellbeing: The psychological well being of an individual will affect the disability costs as currently for most disability-related programs, psychological issues have been the number 1 issue for disability. A vast majority of claims related to disability are due to mental health-related problems.
  • Legal Issues: The litigation costs are increasing due to the increase in the legal battles due to disability claim issues, that will lead to an increase in the disability costs
  • The interest rates: A relatively low-interest-rate environment will put significant pressure on disability costs and will lead to an increase in disability costs.

2. The roles that HR have played in the transition process are:

  • Fostering a healthier and good quality of work-life by identifying , and preventing stress at the workplace.
