There are two major factors that
affect the learning of English language in the learners. These
factors may either be extrinsic or intrinsic factors. Intrinsic
factors are the ones that come from within the person, and the
extrinsic factors are the ones which would be as a result of
external factors. The socio cultural factors influencing ELL are
p:
- The school. Where, it is not only
the student but also the teacher and the peers, the school would be
preparing the student for a life, along with their behaviors.
- The family would also be playing a
major role, where, all the students would be relying for support on
the families. This would be serving as a function for
socialisation. With family support, students would become highly
successful.
- The peer group would be having the
greatest impact. The peer group also helps with language
development as well as speech development. Peer influence would not
be decreasing with time.
