Give a brief example of an employee performance review you have experienced. Using Brock's description of how employee performance reviews should be conducted explain what was different about your review or the reviews of other people you work with or know.
The employee performance review that I experienced from my supervisor for the Interior Designing project was not that effective and satisfying. My supervisor set performance targets that exceeded the time limit and resources being provided. His expectations in theory were way more than what I could translate into practical. Therefore the targets were unreal. However the cooperation and coordination of the team and my leadership skills were duly recognised. My efforts and synchronisation of tasks were also acknowledged thus there was no demotivation factor. But performance outcome was considered to be deviating from expectations a lot.
The most important thing that was different in my performance review which I experienced in the project from that of the Brock's description was that Performance targets were unreal or difficult to attain for freshers . Brock suggests to evaluate based on targets that are real to attain , which I found compromising in my performance review. Moreover I was not being provided any feedback. Brock's suggests to mention the strengths and weaknesses which was also not focused or highlighted, but future performance goals were duly shared based on the current performance..
