Part A: Describe changes in patterns of drug abuse in the United States since the 1960’s. In your discussion, choose two drugs (one legal, one illegal) and discuss specific changes in use patterns over time. Discuss the impact (e.g., social, cultural, financial, etc.) of these changing patterns on society.
Before the 1960s there were drugs such tranquilizers that were being used for recreational and abuse purposes, but since then it changed towards psychotropic drugs and hallucinogens which comprised of acid and Canabis.
After that the powder drugs broke into the market who'd where predominantly cocaine and heroine.
The drug abuse from pedestrian substances such as alcohol turned towards drugs thst were quick to act and were highly dangerous and addictive with the rising demand for new and novel products.
The usage has become more common as well over time which has had a huge impact on the economical scenario of the country, with the creation of black market and black money being generated as a result which is a gross loss to the country
Socially, the country has exploited the terminology of being liberal, and used it for certain things which hold no relevance in the aspect. It has led to a degradation in the social and cultural roots of the society as people give into addictions and forget the relevant components of a society.
