B) As you think about your personal goals and aspirations, what cognitive fallacies outlined by Wilke and Mata (2012) might impede your growth? What active steps might you take to recognize and combat such fallacious forms of thinking?

People are normally good on their own but as they grow, they
will learn ways that being in some discrimination and illogical
thoughts, perceptions, behaviours towards people, things and
events. Few of the cognitive biases that I will develop are
confirmation bias that explains the concept that one will choose
information selectively depending on one's existing knowledge,
beliefs and attitudes, fundamental attribution error that explains
the fact that one would emphasise on personal factors and give
least importance to situational factors, in-group bias that
suggests that people act in favour of others who they think belong
to and finally mere exposure effect which explains the tenancy to
prefer familiar things and avoid things that are new and
challenging.
I would like to understand the fact that people are different, thus
they will have different preferences and opinions which I should
respect. I should look for the real message in a communication by
not selecting what I believe and like thus looking at the entire
picture. I would treat everyone with respect and not just those who
I think belong to me and would favour me. Finally, I will overcome
my fear of failure, fear of new things and new challenges by giving
it a try.
