Advanced Professional Nurse in creating Ethical Practice Environment :

Nursing is a noble profession with ethics. Nurses are professionally trained health care providers. It is a call to service , aimed to promote health, prevent and cure illness and to alleviate suffering and pain of the sick people.

Advanced professional Nurse or the Advanced practice nurse is the one who has a Post graduate degree in Nursing and working with the licence in the country. APN can work in their are of speciality such as Medical Surgical Nursing, Psychiatric nursing, Geriatric nursing, Paediatric nursing etc.

An Advanced Practice Nurse has a main role in creating an Ethical practice Environment. Ethics are the standards that govern the conduct of a person, especially a member of a profession. She can create a setting that can promote ethical practice by her influence. Due to the strong Educational background, an APN will be thorough with the code of ethics of the profession. She can be in various roles to promote an ethical practice Environment, such as:

* Encourage the co-workers to adhere to the standards of the profession

* Counsellor: she can act as a counsellor not only for the patient, but also for the other nurses, during the crisis situation ( pandemic like COVID 19) to provide psychological support and courage, there by maintaining professionals participation.

* Educator: APN can educate the future nurses and the Registered nurses regarding the importance of code of ethics in the practice Environment.

* Clinical practice: An APN is highly skilled and knowledgeable in her practice such as Assessment, clinical decision making and management of cases etc.

* Conflict resolver: APN can help the patient and other co workers during the situation of Ethical dilemma to assist them in taking a beneficial decisions.
