Digital self is mask put on to capture the digital world, everyone have their digital self in this era. Digital Sociology is one of the disciplines of Sociology which deals about digital media and digital self in everyday life.There is an identity called true self that is the true essence of our personality. A false self is created to cover and protect our ture personality called true self.

Sharing self to the world has become an essential part of our lives. In order to engage with the digital world, false self is presented to manage challenges, insecurities and anxieties of day-to-day lives and slowly needs, wants and motivations have become the digital representation of ourselves. Within no time, we have learned to quickly respond to the digital world.

A vivid part of our lives have become data today, There is no control on our digital selves and have become slaves to the digial media. Handing over rights of our digital representations and personal data to the digital media are now being put to work to train the algorithms that change the world around us. It is also true that personal data could give us the power to improve and update the world. Its very important for us to protect our digital media in order to avoid the digital media to rule over us. Its our responsiblity and commitment to cregain control of our digital self, in a way that it can improve th world around us and work for us.
