?United States has the highest consumption of energy amidst all other countries. But it rely greatly on the international oil sources which leads to regular political and militiary unstable situations and resistence. For example : US supply of oil from Middle East has always been making U.S. vulnerable to terrorism and other conflicts. There has been grave consequences of this trading relationships and numerous challenges that lies infront of U.S. to tackle. The ever increasing demand for energy does hurt United States position overseas.

There are numerous merits associated with energy policy reform like effecting long time climate change and reduced oil consumption, and more stable militiary and political condition. But there are certain risks also involved with the introduction of alternative fuel like setting up of such alternative energy source will require hugely expensive and unrealistic transformation of U.S. conversion, further it can cause some serious climate changes in long duration because with the current science the reason for global warming still uncertain, it can be a doom or gloom scenario.
