In this discussion, identify at least three challenges in coordinating care for clients and their families who have mental or behavioral health disorders/conditions? If you could change one thing in care coordination, what would that be?
Health care providers are constantly facing challenges in coordinating and making decision is too difficult.
While caring for mental illness complex situations will arise frequently to with hold that we have to adhere to the ethical accountability in our professional practice.
Because legalization guides us to select between the right and wrong according to the society norms.
According to my opinion three care where i had witnessed challenge are as follows..
1. Restraints and Seclusion
It is too controversial to use seclusion or restraints as a therapeutic intervention for mentally ill patients.so many federal and state regulations were there to eliminate its use but still now it was in practice during psychiatric emergencies. we were also forced to implement to the patient.
In earlier days restraints refers to restraing of the persons extremities using lether straps or by chains to the individual who is at risk to the physical safety and psychological well being.
2. Gravely disabled
It is a condition of an individual due ti mental illness, the person is in serious danger of physical harm as aresult we can't able to provide basic needs such as food, clothing, shelter, medical care.
In this situation the family and the informant should be informed that it is the inability to make use of available resources.
The individual grvely diabled situation has to be determined by the court.
3. Mal practice and negligence
The action weighed against the professional standards, Which will breech the duty rendered to the individual.
I could change Malpractice and negligence, As a health care provider we should adhere to the legal and ethics of our professions and the standard set by law.
