Three challenges in the health care organization:
1. Lack of effective payment model:
The health care system still lack in the implementation of new payment models that covers the pre-existing condition, coordinating services. Payers and patients look for service-based payment, sharing of savings, bundled payments. Many patient experiences unsatisfaction due to uncoverage and increased health care cost.
2. Lack of security in health care information:
Because of increased network providers, the patient information is shared widely to improve health care services and care of patients. Still, some health care organizations not implemented the EHR fully, which leads to leakage of health information to the third party and increases the health care cost. Patients have an increased threat to the sharing of health information.
3. Demand and shortage of health care professionals:
Fee for service model, Value-based health care increases the turnover and withdraw of physicians. Babyboomers are increasing on the other side and increase of new health diseases, home health care services leads to the demand of nursing professionals.
Comparison of challenges:
To meet patient expectation, Payment options are offered in variety to utilize based on patient demands. Billing process should be transparent and appropriate. Organizations should follow guidelines in the sharing of patient information and measures taken for the security of health information. The implement of the new health policy should meet financial incentives and service-based payments. This will reduce physician turnover. Coordinating health care services and patient-oriented care improves patient satisfaction and reduce health care cost. Overall, a healthcare organization should improve the quality of care, efficiency of services, and reduction of health care cost.
