What do you think is behind the emotion of jealousy? Why are some people more prone to jealousy than others? Do you think men and women show their jealousy in different ways? If so, can you think of social factors that might account for these differences?
Emotions behind jealousy :
1. Poor self image : Thinking so low about oneself
2. Fear : Fear of loosing someone or something, fear of getting rejected etc
3. Insecurity : This is the result of the above mentioned two emotions.
Some people are more prone to jealousy than others because it depends on the nature of the person. If the person is of the nature, paranoid personality or nature of obsessive thinking or nature of feeling insecure in everything and lack of self confidence, then that person is more prone to jealousy.

Yes, men and women show their jealousy in different ways. The reason behind it is the basic difference in nature of men and women. Women are more sensitive and more open emotionally than men. In most countries, women are not as broad minded as men because they are not exposed to the outside world as much as men did. Still in some countries, women are not treated equally with men. All these factors contribute for the difference in the way men and women show jealousy.
