C. What's your opinion on anyone getting certified to become a forensics experts? Just by going online and paying even though your degree has nothing to with that field yet they can be used to testify in court since they have their "certification"?
A. There have been concerns regarding the credibility of forensic research, and that not all of the investigations are based on scientific research. There are many cases, in which the investigators have to come down to a conclusion and the evidence would not be directly pointing towards the person who did it. The analysis of DNA turns out to be one of the base of the manner in which investigations proceed. And this is the only most reliable method. Fingerprints are known to mislead st times, fingerprints could be only perfectly identified, if it came in as a whole print, perfect.
B. Brandon mayfield had been accused of being involved in the Madrid train bombings. Mayfield had been charged, and later, in internal fbi review, there was acknowledgment of serious investigation errors. There were lawsuits, that resulted in formal apologies from the government and a settlement amount. There was an error in viewing the fingerprint, which was later confirmed to be of an Algeria national. On a public front, on May 25th, the case had been dismissed by judges. The fbi had admitted wrongdoing and had apologised.
Levon brooks had been convicted wrongly for a rape and murder that he had not committed. This was in the case of 1990. In 2008, he had been cleared by DNA testing.
C. It is incorrect to be giving certification to any person for forensic testing. It should be made mandatory for any person to be obtaining proper education, with a bachelors in the relevant field, such as biology r chemistry. Also, it is required that the personnel should be obtaining proper experience. It is necessary to understand that forensic science is a serious field, and it is required that the personnel trying to bring about a conclusion should be well aware of their field. Also, it is required that this knowledge be introduced in practice and in application.
Since, forensic science Is a very important field. It is important that any person involved in such fields should have thorough knowledge.
