Expert Solution

In order to foster creativity in the workplace, management need its employees to be participative in decision makings. though the ultimate power to initiate their ideas rests with the manaement.

well, in order to foster creativity, management expects different ideas and plans from their employees. However, the ideas may not be all the time fruitful.

In case of unusable ideas, Management will definitely be going to reject employee's idea. now, how this information will be conveyed to the employee will make the whole different. If the management bursted out on the employee for the unusable idea given then it may not be possible to foster creativity in the workplace and also it may reduce the morale and other employees will not be willing to participate in decision makings of the organisation.

In order to foster creativity, if any emplyee give an usable ideas, following should be the response of management ot it-

- Instead of bursting upon him/her, management should appreciate the efforts. atleast he/she tried for your organisation.

- also, management is not supposed to carry forward with that idea, instead management should support the employee and expalin them, why their ideas will not work.

- management should give postivie feedback, if possible it should help the employees to dig out the gaps and accordingly suggest ways to fix it.

- and yes, last but not the least, management should not fire the employee. since he/she is in learning phase. all they need is the consistent support of management and this will enhance their carrer prospects.
