In Spare the Rod, Spoil the Child?” How do different cultures respond to the ideas of punishment and spanking? In your opinion, should the United States create laws that ban punishment. Explain your response in at least one paragraph.
"In spare the rod, spoil the child" is a modern day proverb that means if parent refuses to discipline an unruly child, that child will grow accustomed to getting his own way. He will become vernacular and a spolied brat.
Studeis suggests that regardless of different cultures being hit by a gurdian affects children's health. In the United States several surveys have shown that the great majority of parents practice and endorse spanking. 37.4% of children in Egypt reported their parents use physical punishment. In US and UK parents readily endorse belief in the necessity of physical discipline of children, particularly if they are young. In US some christian-based parenting enduring to correct misbehaviour and teach self control. They also think physical discipline is necessary for infants. Children are parental property and can be molded to their beliefs. Parents admit to physical punishment but readily say that they should not do it, except in some circumstances. They sometimes regret of giving physical punishment and feel they should do something else.
Yes US should creat laws that ban punishment. Social acceptance of punishment is high in some countries like US where it remains lawfil. In this countries parents have historically been regarded as having the right to physically punish and misehaving children in order to teach appropriate conduct. But it used to have the opposite effect, children tend to shows more aggressive behavior and less long term obedience. Other aderve effects such as depression, anxiety and anti social behavior etc. That's why US givergover should make such laws that ban punishment.
